A clearomizer is also commonly referred to as a cartomizer or an atomizer. It is a device that is attached to a power supply such as a battery to vaporize the e-juice. A clearomizer works by the principle of heating the e-juice to a high temperature that causes its vaporization. This vapor is then delivered out of the tank through a drip tip.
Features of a clearomizer
Most clearomizers are cylindrically shaped, and their inner tanks are made of a borosilicate glass or a polycarbonate plastic. This e-juice holding tank is usually transparent, and this enables the vaper to see the juice levels. The juice is conveyed to the heating coils via a silica wick. Some cartomizers may contain wicks made of other materials such cotton. Some tanks also have a coil located at the top of the tank, and the e-juice is delivered via a long wick. In other models, the coil is located at the bottom of the tank, and the juice is delivered using a short wick. The essence of having short wick delivering the juice for short distances is to saturate the e-juice on the wick. Once the juice reaches the coil, it is heated to high temperatures until it vaporizes.
Advantages of a clearomizer
1. It usually has a large e-juice tank with a capacity of between 1.6 to 3 ml.
2. The tank is transparent, and this allows easy monitoring of the e-juice levels
3. Some clearomizers models are rebuildable and come with inbuilt replaceable coils.
4. They have a longer life cycle as compared to the old atomizer models.
5. Some vapers believe that clearomizers with a wick delivery system produce a highly flavored vape.
There are many clearomizers available on the market today. They include Innokin Iclear I6 Dual Coil Clearomizer, Kanger Toptank Mini Clearomizer, Smoktech TFV8 Sub ohm tank and Aspire Nautilus Airflow Tank.
